Your turn

What did you get paid for?

Submit yours with the amount, the pay basis and the part of the story people would actually repeat later. Keep employers, customers and private people out of it where you can.

Keep the useful detail.

What happened, what the task was, or why the pay felt absurd is more interesting than a miniature CV.

Leave private people out.

No links, contact details or unnecessary employer, colleague or customer identification.

Keep the amount in context.

Hourly, daily, annual, gig and one-off amounts stay exactly what was submitted. Unlike kinds of pay are not quietly annualised.

Tell the story

What did you get paid?

Self-reported

Your headline, amount, pay basis, story, chosen location, display name and optional context become public. After publishing, save the private management link if you want to edit, unpublish or delete your story later.

The money

Tell us the amount, currency and exactly what period or job it covers. We do not annualise incompatible amounts.

Digits and an optional decimal point; no commas or currency symbol.

We show the amount with the pay basis you choose. We do not annualise unlike pay.

Keep it broad. You do not need to name a city or employer.

The story

Give readers a short headline, then tell the story. Avoid names, contact details and confidential information.

Up to 80 characters.

Up to 600 characters.

Public identity

Use a handle, or publish anonymously. Your legal name is not required.

A handle is fine.

Add optional context

Useful context for readers. None of this is required. Age, if supplied, is kept to a broad adult bracket.

Public means public: your money story can be shared immediately and may appear in search engines. Unpublishing or deleting later cannot recall screenshots, search caches or other copies already made.

By publishing, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, that this is a self-reported money claim and story you are choosing to make public, and that you are not submitting someone else’s private information. You also agree to the Terms, Community guidelines and acknowledge the Privacy notice.

Fine print, but readable

The joke stops where trust starts.

The tone can be unserious. Public money claims, privacy and moderation cannot. A bigger number does not make somebody the main character.

01

Unverified, loudly.

A published claim is not independently verified just because it passed moderation or somebody voted for it later.

02

Original amount. Original basis.

A $500 one-off job stays a $500 one-off job. An annual post stays annual. The pay basis stays attached so readers know what the amount means.

03

Popularity is entertainment.

Top and Trending mean readers found a post worth reacting to. They do not mean the claim is true, sensible or financially superior.

Frequently asked questions

Questions worth asking before you tell the internet what you got paid.

The premise is simple. Publishing money and stories is not. Here are the useful answers without a corporate fog machine.

Are the money claims verified?

No. Money stories are not independently verified. Moderation checks whether content can be published; it does not prove the amount, job or story is true.

What kinds of pay can I post?

Annual, hourly, daily, per-gig and one-off amounts are all welcome. We show the amount, currency and pay basis as submitted instead of converting one kind of pay into another.

Can I post anonymously?

Yes. You can publish without a display name or use a handle instead of your legal name. Your public story URL does not contain your display name.

What becomes public?

Your amount, currency, pay basis, short story, country or broad region, and any display name or optional context you choose to add. Public stories may be indexed by search engines, and deleting one later cannot recall screenshots, search caches or other copies already made.

What should I leave out of the story?

Do not include links, contact details, confidential information or unnecessary names of employers, colleagues, customers or other private people. Tell the interesting part without turning somebody else into searchable collateral damage.

How does moderation work?

New and edited public text is screened before it can be published. Reports can trigger another review of the current public content. Moderation is about whether a post can be shown safely; it does not verify the money claim.

How do I edit, unpublish or delete my flex?

Use the private management link you get after publishing. Keep it safe: there is no account or email recovery. It lets you edit, unpublish, republish when allowed, or permanently delete your post.

What if I lose my private management link?

We cannot recreate a lost management link. If a public post needs removal, use Contact; a removal request does not restore ownership of the post.

What do Top and Trending mean?

Top and Trending are based on reader votes. Votes help popular stories rise; they do not verify a claim or make one person’s pay better than another’s.

Can I report impersonation, private information or abuse?

Yes. Open the public story and choose “Report this flex”. Reports are private and do not require an account, name or email address. Please describe the problem without adding your own identifying information.

Is this salary, tax, employment or financial advice?

No. Flex Your Income is an entertainment/community product built around public money stories. Claims can be wrong, exaggerated or made up. It does not tell you what you should earn, what job to take, how much tax you owe, or what to invest in.

Does the site track me?

Analytics is optional. If you opt in, we record basic usage events, not your story, money amount or private management link. Security controls for actions such as posting, voting and reporting are separate. See Privacy for details.

Why is Flex Your Income 18+?

Posts can include financial information and public stories that may be shared or indexed. Participation is limited to adults, and we only ask for broad adult age brackets.
