The rules for using Flex Your Income

Flex Your Income is an entertainment/community site about what people get paid and the stories around it. It is not an employment database wearing a novelty moustache. These terms set the practical boundaries for publishing and using it.

Last updated: 22 September 2026

Using the service

By publishing or managing a money story, you agree to these terms and the Community guidelines. The Privacy notice explains how the service handles information.

You must be at least 18 years old to publish or manage a story. You are responsible for what you submit and for keeping your private management link secure.

Your money story is public and not independently verified

A published community story is a public statement you choose to make. It can show the amount you report, currency, pay basis, short story, chosen country or broad region, display name or Anonymous status, and any optional context you supply.

Community-submitted money claims are self-reported and are not independently verified. Passing moderation, being shared, receiving votes, or appearing in Top or Trending does not prove that an amount, job, identity or story is true.

Amounts remain attached to their submitted pay basis. Hourly, daily, per-gig and one-off amounts are not silently converted into annual salaries.

Only publish information you are entitled to publish

Do not submit another person's private or confidential income or personal information without permission. Do not impersonate another person, falsely attribute a claim to them, or use a real person's identity in a misleading or abusive way.

Keep the story focused on the interesting part rather than identifying employers, colleagues, customers or private people unnecessarily. Do not include contact details, confidential information, credentials, identity documents or links intended to promote, solicit or redirect readers.

A handle is fine. Your legal name, employer name, exact location, date of birth, tax records, payslips and identity documents are not required to publish a story.

No unlawful content or criminal activity

Do not submit content that is unlawful to publish or use Flex Your Income to promote, encourage, solicit, arrange or facilitate criminal activity. This includes instructions for committing crimes, offers of illegal goods or services, fraud, threats, trafficking, sexual exploitation and sharing stolen credentials or unlawfully obtained private information. Sexual content involving children is prohibited.

Calling something a joke, fiction or a paid job does not excuse prohibited content. Mentioning an unlawful event is not automatically permission to publish it: the whole story must still meet these terms and the Community guidelines, including their safety and privacy rules.

These rules apply even if automated moderation misses a violation. Passing screening does not establish that content is lawful or give you permission to break these rules. We may hide or remove violating content after publication. Use the Report action on the story or Contact and removal to raise a concern.

Automated moderation before publication

New and edited public user-authored text can be checked by local rules and external automated moderation before that revision is allowed to become public. The service may accept it, ask you to rewrite it, block it, or temporarily refuse the change when moderation cannot be completed safely.

Automated moderation is designed to reduce abuse, privacy problems, unsafe content and spam. It is not a fact-checking or income-verification service and does not endorse content that passes.

For an edit, the previously accepted public revision may remain visible while the proposed replacement is checked. A failed or rejected proposed edit does not entitle the new text to replace the existing public version.

Public URLs, sharing and search engines

Published stories are publicly reachable and can be shared. Complete stories with suitable structured context can be eligible for search-engine indexing.

Raw story text can appear in the public page body. Flex Your Income deliberately does not place it into page titles, meta descriptions, social-preview descriptions or site-generated native-share text by default.

Once information is public, other people and services may copy it. Editing, unpublishing, changing to Anonymous or deleting the original does not force search engines, screenshots, social previews, archives or other third parties to erase their copies.

Community voting, Top and Trending

A browser can cast one effective positive vote on a story using the site's pseudonymous anti-abuse actor. A vote means roughly that the reader thinks the story is worth surfacing. It is not a statement that the claim is true, that the amount is impressive, or that the person is more competent or valuable than anyone else.

Top uses current community popularity. Trending uses recent active voting over a seven-day window. Removing a vote removes its current influence; re-adding the same browser's vote to unchanged content does not manufacture a fresh Trending timestamp. Material changes to public story content can clear that story's vote history.

Votes do not verify claims or affect moderation decisions. Hidden, unpublished or removed stories are not entitled to remain in public discovery merely because they received votes.

The service does not provide comments, replies, quote-post text, free-text reactions or direct messages. Do not automate, coordinate or manipulate voting to manufacture popularity.

Managing your story

The service does not require an account. Ownership is controlled by the private management link created when you publish. Save that link somewhere appropriate and do not publish it.

Flex Your Income stores public verification material rather than a reusable copy of your private owner credential. If you lose the working private management link, normal owner recovery may not be possible. A removal request can still be raised through Contact and removal, but the service does not promise account-style recovery.

If a private management link may have been exposed, use the owner controls to replace it. The current link remains valid unless the replacement succeeds.

Reports, moderation and integrity controls

Visitors can report public stories. A report can contribute to another automated assessment of the current public revision, but repeat reports may be combined rather than causing one external scan each. Report detail text is not itself treated as classifier input.

The service may reject publication, hide, unpublish or permanently remove content that breaks these terms or the Community guidelines. Public visibility, community popularity and verification are separate concepts.

Exceptional cases can receive human review. A moderator restore or override does not make a story verified. Repeated malicious reporting, automated flooding or attempts to exploit moderation, voting, anti-abuse or owner controls are prohibited.

Your content licence

You keep whatever rights you have in content you submit. You give Flex Your Income a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce, format, cache and display that content only as reasonably needed to operate, secure, moderate, index and share the service and your public story.

For content in the live service, that licence ends when the content is permanently deleted, except to the extent a limited disaster-recovery copy or a copy already made by a third party still exists. This licence does not give the service permission to turn your submission into unrelated merchandise, a résumé database or some other surprise business model.

No salary, employment, investment, tax or financial advice

The site is for entertainment and community reading. User submissions can be wrong, exaggerated, stale or misleading. Do not rely on them as professional advice, a labour-market survey, a valuation, an employment recommendation, a tax position or an investment decision.

Availability and changes

The service may change, pause or discontinue features, moderation rules, voting rules or availability. Reasonable efforts may be made to preserve useful owner controls and public-data behaviour, but uninterrupted operation is not guaranteed.

Material changes to these terms will be reflected by updating the date on this page. If a change materially alters what publishing or voting on a money story means, the service will update the relevant public explanation.

Advertising, tips and payments

Advertising, tips and payments are not currently enabled. Publishing a story does not require payment and does not entitle you to money from other users.

If those services are introduced and materially change these terms or data handling, the relevant public terms and privacy information will be updated before the new flow is relied on.

Responsibility and legal rights

You use public user-submitted information at your own judgement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Flex Your Income does not promise that user claims, stories, popularity signals or service availability are accurate, complete or suitable for a particular purpose.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, including any rights that apply under the Australian Consumer Law.

Questions

For questions about these terms or a removal request you cannot complete with the private management link, see Contact and removal or email privacy@flexyourincome.com.
